My work is a slow-burn survival strategy against social and economic conditions I was raised in. Domination, violence, and hatred are too often presented as acceptable forms of male expression. Our culture equates stoicism with strength and vulnerability with weakness, leaving boys and men emotionally constrained, with anger and aggression as their most accessible outlets. This narrowing of emotional complexity reinforces systems that normalize harm toward both self and others. The resulting alienation, frustration, and depression create fertile ground for manipulation and radicalization. Social stressors, coupled with a deep need for belonging, can drive boys and men toward groups organized around resentment, retaliation, and violence against those held responsible for their discomfort.

An expanded definition of painting and drawing where color, line, pattern, image building and image reduction is consistent in my work. My studio methodology is broad and fluctuates, often determined by context of resources for production, presentation considerations and conceptual intent. The work takes shape through a combination of self-produced imagery and material-based objects, often existing as wall-hung installations that merge image, surface, and physical presence.
